Job summary

Subway is seeking a Shift Manager to lead restaurant operations with a focus on guest experience, food quality, cleanliness, inventory control, staffing, and teamwork.

You will train Sandwich Artists, schedule and supervise staff, ensure equipment works, and handle paperwork. Full Time/Part Time and Day/Evening/Weekend shifts vary by location. Compensation to be discussed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent guest experience.
• Ensure food is prepared and served to standard.
• Keep the restaurant clean, functional and attractive.
• Control inventory and supplies.
• Schedule and supervise staff.
• Be a team player.
• Cascade training to Sandwich Artists on existing and new responsibilities.

As part of the Subway® Team, you as a Shift Manager will focus on six main things:

• Controlling inventory
• Scheduling and supervising staff

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical

Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
