Job summary

Subway is seeking a dedicated Shift Manager to lead daily operations, enhance guest experience, ensure food quality, and maintain a clean, functional restaurant during the shift.

You will train Sandwich Artists, schedule staff, manage inventory, and verify equipment is in good working order while handling shift paperwork and ensuring smooth operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide strong guest experience and service delivery.
• Schedule and supervise staff during shifts.
• Train team members and cascade responsibilities to Sandwich Artists.
• Control inventory and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Complete paperwork and maintain cleanliness and organization.

Job description

As part of the Subway® Team, you as a Shift Manager will focus on six main things:

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical

Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
