Job summary

Subway is seeking a Shift Manager to lead daily operations, focusing on guest experience, food preparation, cleanliness, inventory, staff scheduling, and teamwork.

You will train Sandwich Artists, supervise staff, manage inventory controls, ensure equipment works, and handle paperwork as needed. Full-time/part-time, day/evening/weekend shifts vary by location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of restaurant experience.
• Excellent guest service experience.
• Ability to operate POS system (cash register).

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent guest experience and ensure food is prepared and served properly.
• Schedule and supervise staff during shifts.
• Maintain inventory controls and ensure equipment is working.

As part of the Subway® Team, you as a Shift Manager will focus on six main things:

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical

Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
