Job summary

Subway is seeking a Shift Manager to lead daily operations in a fast-paced restaurant. You’ll focus on guest experience, food quality, cleanliness and team supervision, with responsibilities in scheduling, inventory control and training.

You’ll work with a team to ensure smooth shifts, proper cash handling, and adherence to standards, with full-time or part-time options depending on location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of restaurant experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to operate a POS system and cash register.

Responsibilities

• Provide an excellent guest experience and maintain standards.
• Schedule and supervise staff across shifts.
• Control inventory and ensure proper stock levels.

Job description

As part of the Subway® Team, you as a Shift Manager will focus on six main things:

In addition to the role of a typical Sandwich Artist®, key parts of your day to day will consist of:

• Cascading training to Sandwich Artists™ on existing and new responsibilities
• Scheduling and supervising staff
• Practicing inventory control standards
• Ensuring equipment is in proper working order during shift
• Completing paperwork as needed

PREREQUISITES

Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Experience: A minimum of 1 year of experience in a restaurant environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Communication and organizational skills

Physical: Ability to work any area of the restaurant as needed and to operate computerized Point of Sale system/cash register. This position requires bending, standing and walking the entire workday. Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.
