Job summary

Freebirds World Burrito is seeking a Shift Leader to deliver exceptional guest service and to lead and mentor team members in a fast-paced environment. You will foster a positive culture, motivate others, and support operations to ensure high standards and guest satisfaction.

Ideal candidates demonstrate leadership, adaptability, and a commitment to cross-training across roles while upholding food safety and quality standards for a busy restaurant.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated leadership experience in a fast-paced food-service setting.
• Ability to manage high-volume workload while maintaining quality.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and POS operations.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional guest service and mentor team members.
• Lead shifts to ensure operational standards and guest satisfaction.

Requirements

• Previous leadership experience
• Ability to work at a fast pace and high-volume workload
• Deliver crave-able food through recipe adherence and food quality standards
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures
• The ability to empower and mentor the Tribe
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Must learn to cross-train in all positions
• Must get a manager's food handlers certification upon hire
• Able to withstand comfortably the physical demands of a retail environment.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift and carry items up to 70 lbs.
• Stand for extended periods (up to an entire shift)
• Bend, stoop, reach, push, and pull regularly for operations, stocking, and equipment use
• Use ladders occasionally
• Work in varying environments including hot kitchen areas and walk-in coolers/freezers
• Communicate clearly with employees, guests, vendors, and leadership teams
