Job summary

Insomniacookies is seeking a Shift Leader for our KU store at 1401 W 23 Street, Lawrence KS 66046. You will guide the bakery during day or night hours, orchestrating orders, suggesting add-ons, baking, and delivering a fun, productive shift for the team and customers.

You will lead by example, ensure quality and safety standards, handle cash, and train crew members. Part-time, weekdays 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., with flexible scheduling and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of customer-service experience.
• Experience with Point of Sale systems.
• Outstanding communication and time-management skills.
• Outgoing, friendly, patient demeanor.
• Detail-focused and results-oriented.
• Ability to lead by example and motivate others.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Must be 18 years or older to be employed.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and quality products to guests throughout their bakery experience.
• Support store leadership by maintaining operations during your shift and training team members.
• Prioritize and delegate tasks for baking, cashiering, packaging, and cleaning while leading the cookie crew.
• Collaborate with the Cookie Crew to ensure smooth shift operations.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment in line with food-safety practices.
• Manage cash handling and deposits.

As a Shift Leader at our KU store located at 1401 W 23 Street, Lawrence KS 66046, you are the captain of our bakery day or night! You understand what it takes to “Own the Night” (and beyond), by predicting the flow of business during a successful shift. Your hands‑on leadership style should not only include building orders, suggestive selling, baking, and interacting with customers – but also taking pride in creating a productive and fun night for the store.

What will I do as a Shift Leader?

• Provide incredible customer service and quality products to all guests throughout their experience within our bakeries.
• Support store leadership by maintaining operations during your shift, communicating pertinent information, monitoring production efficiency, holding the team accountable to company standards and procedures, and assisting in the training and coaching of team members.
• Prioritize and delegate tasks for baking, cashiering, packaging, and cleaning while leading the cookie crew team.
• Support and work alongside the Cookie Crew.
• Provide a safe, clean, working environment for our guests and staff while adhering to safe food handling practices.
• Manage cash handling and deposits.
