McDonald’s franchisee-owned restaurant in California is hiring a Shift Leader/Manager to oversee shifts, supervise crew and other managers, and ensure fast, accurate, friendly service.

This job posting is for a Shift Leader/Manager position starting at $21 per hour, also a $1 add‑on per hour is available to employees working an “overnight shift,” in a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee and not McDonald’s USA. This franchisee owns a license to use McDonald’s logos and food products when running the restaurant, but it is a separate company and employer from McDonald’s USA. All employment matters are handled by the franchisee; McDonald’s USA has no control over hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling.
Managers lead shifts each week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience. A Shift Manager provides leadership to crew and other managers during a shift to ensure high quality, service, and cleanliness for customers.
Shift managers perform a variety of tasks, which may include planning for each shift, monitoring performance, taking action to ensure the team meets standards, monitoring safety, security, and profitability, and communicating with the next Shift Manager to help prepare them to run a great shift. Shift managers may also be responsible for meeting targets during their shifts and helping their assigned departments meet goals.
Previous leadership experience preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment. We’re looking for positive team players with a flexible schedule who enjoy a fast‑paced environment. Applicants must be 18 years or older to be a manager.
