Job summary

El Pollo Loco is seeking a Shift Leader to oversee Crewmembers when the General Manager or Assistant Manager is absent, coaching and prioritizing tasks during shifts.

You will train staff on policies, food safety, and cleanliness, while opening or closing the restaurant and delivering superior guest experiences. This role supports cost and profit goals through leadership and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Must be EPL Crewmember certified on all EPL SPECS positions or have 1+ years of restaurant supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; must pass EPL Food Safety Audit (FSA) class on hire.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills; second language a plus.
• Basic math and computer skills; strong customer service abilities.
• Serve Safe Certificate at time of hire or obtain where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Crewmembers in the absence of the General Manager or Assistant Manager; coach, direct, recognize outstanding behavior, and establish priorities during shifts.
• Train Crewmembers on policies and procedures; ensure food safety, security, quality and cleanliness standards.
• Open and/or close the restaurant.
• Create and ensure superior guest experiences.
• Contribute to achieving cost and profit goals.
