Job summary

Five Guys is seeking a Shift Leader who will be a hands-on, on–the–floor leader, setting the tone for every shift. You’ll lead by example, work side-by-side with your team, and ensure every guest walks out impressed.

You’ll jump into every position—from cashier to grill, prep, fries, and dining room—delivering fast, accurate service. You’ll coach crew, help train new teammates, and maintain brand standards in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred)
• A team-first mindset with strong communication skills
• Someone who leads by doing—not just directing
• Ability to stay cool and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math and comfort using POS systems

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and step in to run operations when management isn’t on site
• Jump into every position—cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room—no task is too small
• Deliver fast, accurate service and create a great guest experience every time
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports
