Job summary

Colen Built Development is seeking a Shift Manager for its Ocala, FL location to supervise restaurant staff across shifts and ensure top-notch service and efficiency.

You will recruit, train, and motivate a diverse team, set performance standards, and coordinate with the kitchen to deliver timely, high-quality meals while maintaining safety and cleanliness. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is required.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or managerial experience in restaurant industry preferred.
• Strong leadership and motivational abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of restaurant operations, service standards, and safety regulations.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making under pressure.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Proficiency with restaurant management software and POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and guide restaurant staff during the assigned shift.
• Recruit, hire, and supervise a team including shift supervisors, cashiers, cooks, and support staff.
• Set performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and implement training to improve skills.
• Provide coaching and feedback to ensure high service standards.
• Delegate tasks and manage workload for smooth operations.
• Monitor dining area for cleanliness and safety compliance.
• Interact with customers to gather feedback and address concerns.
• Create and adjust shift schedules based on availability and needs.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures and ensure accuracy.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff for timely food prep and delivery.
• Monitor inventory and place orders to prevent shortages.
• Enforce SOPs, cash handling, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with managers and owner to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
