Job summary

Smashburger is seeking a Shift Leader at our Colorado Springs location to champion guest service and operational excellence.

Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager, you will manage FOH & BOH teams, train staff, uphold food safety standards, and drive performance through coaching, COGS control, and labor management. You’ll foster a positive, high-energy environment with clear communication and accountability.

Responsibilities

• Manage the performance of both FOH and BOH employees.
• Promote a fun and positive work environment.
• Manage people-focused processes and systems.
• Train employees using SmashConnect, LMS, and a 4-step training method.
• Reward and recognize performance that meets/exceeds standards.
• Complete daily operational checklists and compliance tasks.
• Maintain line checks and uniform standards.
• Track safe deposit logs and cash handling policies.
• Monitor guest experience metrics (NPS and OSAT).
• Ensure all food safety standards are followed and in compliance with health departments.
• Demonstrate SIZZLE service standards to staff.
• Onboard and train new employees effectively.
• Control COGS through inventory and ordering processes.
• Follow cash policies to minimize losses.
• Manage daily labor and scheduling.
• Complete train-the-trainer programs within 90 days.
• Be flexible to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Adhere to Smashburger uniform standards and regulations.
• Complete Smashburger training program.
