Job summary

RaceTrac Petroleum, Inc. is seeking a hands-on Shift Manager to lead a fast-paced store team, drive performance, and develop future leaders on each shift.

You will set the tone, guide food service, inventory, and cash handling while coaching teammates in real time, addressing guest concerns with empathy, and upholding safety and cleanliness standards. This role emphasizes strong communication, team-building, and a willingness to take charge in busy periods.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of work experience (retail, restaurant, or food service preferred).
• 1+ years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
• Comfort in fast-paced, high-volume, guest-focused environments.
• Ability to follow through on tasks and coach others to do the same.
• Strong communication and team-building skills.
• High School Diploma or GED (in progress or completed).
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks without frequent breaks.
• Willingness to obtain and maintain required permits (food handlers, alcohol server, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Provide clear direction and assist with food service, stocking, cleaning, or cash handling.
• Coach team members in real-time, offering guidance and support during every shift.
• Address guest concerns with empathy and professionalism, escalating when necessary.
• Train and guide your team to meet service, safety, and cleanliness standards.
• Oversee inventory, vendor check-in, and promotional communication.
• Lead shift change communication and ensure team alignment throughout the day.
• Monitor task completion and provide immediate feedback to drive results.
