Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Shift Leader to drive operational excellence on hourly shifts and mentor team members. You will lead shift management to ensure food quality, service standards, and a clean, safe dining environment.

You’ll coach and develop Family Members, manage labor and inventory in partnership with the Restaurant Manager, and uphold safety policies while delivering a positive guest experience. This role is based at the Canyon restaurant and offers solid growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays, variable hours.
• Stand up to 10 hours, lift up to 55 lbs., meet physical demands.
• Experience coaching or leading teams; strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills.
• ServSafe Food Certification or ability to obtain during training.

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Coach, train, and motivate Family Members.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, sales performance, and basic inventory processes.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
• Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture.
• Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
