Job summary

Whataburger is seeking a Shift Leader to drive operational excellence and coach Team Members on daily shifts. You will partner with the Restaurant Manager to strengthen leadership and shift management capabilities while upholding quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities include leading shifts, guiding new hires, managing costs, and maintaining a positive work culture across the team. Location is your home restaurant with opportunities to support neighboring locations.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma/GED preferred or equivalent experience.
• Open availability including overnights, weekends, holidays, variable hours, and dependable attendance.
• Stand up to 10 hours, lift up to 55 lbs., and meet physical demands.
• Experience coaching or leading teams; strong customer service, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Possess ServSafe Food Certification (or ability to obtain during training).

Responsibilities

• Lead shift management to maintain quality, service, and cleanliness standards.
• Coach, train, and motivate Family Members and new hires.
• Support goals related to food cost, labor cost, and sales performance.
• Uphold food safety, workplace safety, sanitation, and compliance requirements.
• Foster teamwork, communication, accountability, and a positive work culture.
• Prepare, lead, and transition shift operations to keep the restaurant running smoothly.
