Job summary

Velvet Taco in Charlotte, NC is seeking an energetic hourly Team Member to join our fast-paced restaurant family. You will assist in leading the team, greet guests, and help deliver a warm, memorable guest experience.

Qualifications

• Able to greet guests and ensure a positive guest experience.
• Capable of leading a team and maintaining standards.
• Proficient in cash handling and POS procedures.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Efficient time management in a fast-paced setting.
• Skilled at de-escalating guest issues when needed.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Hourly Team Members and interacts with Guests in a friendly, professional, and responsive way.
• Executes opening, mid, and closing duties daily following Velvet Taco’s standard procedures and recipe guidelines.
• Skilled at handling Guest concerns and guiding them toward a positive resolution.
• Adept at cash‑handling, setting up POS drawers, performing comps and voids, and managing deposits during the shift.
• Presents self as a leader among the Team Members and one that motivates others to follow procedures, work with a sense of urgency, and ensure a positive Guest experience.
• Skilled at de‑escalating issues between Team Members, making everyone feel heard.
• Supports Management with the inventory process.
• Always keeps food safety a high priority during the shift by performing line checks, checking shelf storage and expiration dates for prepped food, and keeping the restaurant clean and in order.
• Manages the daily prep list and signs off on all prepped items to ensure adherence to our specifications and flavor profiles.
• Role model for maintaining an environment that is safe for our Team Members & Guests by enforcing the use of cut gloves, keeping floors clean and dry, and removing obstacles that may prevent a safe work or dining space.
• Communicates and delivers a friendly, welcoming, exceptional guest experience.
• Embraces feedback, is eager to learn, and takes accountability for their actions.
• Proficient in a fast‑paced environment and manages time effectively.
• Comfortable in all areas of the restaurant as it relates to culinary, hospitality, and Guest interaction.
