Job summary

Madison Reed in Washington, DC is seeking Shift Leads to oversee guest experience and team performance at our Hair Color Bar. As a keyholder, you’ll be on duty in the manager’s absence, guide front-of-house and salon operations, and drive sales through service excellence and product promotion.

You will develop leadership skills, coach staff, and participate in ongoing training while maintaining the brand values Love, Joy, Trust, Courage and Responsibility.

Qualifications

• Active cosmetology license in the state where applying.
• 1+ year of experience as a colorist behind the chair within a salon environment.
• 1+ year of leadership experience in a customer facing environment.
• Effective communication, strong problem solving and people skills in a fast-paced retail or salon environment.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and develop leadership to provide top-tier guest experience aligned with company values.
• Lead by example through sales and service behaviors in all interactions with guests.
• Support all aspects of the business including front of house and back of house operations.
• Provide consultations and all services offered on the menu.
• Step in as the manager-on-duty to foster a positive, collaborative team environment.
• Contribute to achieving monthly sales goals and KPIs including retail, services, and memberships.
• Ensure Hair Color Bar meets merchandising and asset security standards.
• Demonstrate mastery of Madison Reed systems, policies, and procedures.
• Coach and develop team members to enhance culture and guest satisfaction.
• Grow within Madison Reed through ongoing training and product knowledge.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, performance management, coaching, and training as needed.
