Job summary

Five Guys in Houston, TX is seeking a Shift Leader to guide daily operations, lead by example, and ensure fast, accurate service with an outstanding guest experience.

You’ll run shifts, step into cashier, grill, prep, fries and dining room as needed; coach crew, train new hires, keep the restaurant clean and safe, and uphold Five Guys’ brand standards.

Certification in food safety is preferred; growth opportunities lead toward assistant and general manager roles.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of leadership experience preferred in food service or retail.
• Team-first mindset with strong communication skills.
• Ability to lead by doing and stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and comfort using POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and run operations when management isn’t on site.
• Cover cashier, grill, prep, fries, and dining room as needed.
• Deliver fast, accurate service and guest experiences.
• Coach and motivate crew; train new team members.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and brand standards.
• Manage breaks, cash handling, and closing reports.
