Job summary

Five Guys in St. Louis is seeking a Shift Leader to lead fast-paced shifts, work side-by-side with your team, and ensure every guest leaves impressed.

You will supervise operations, coach crew, deliver quick, accurate service, train new staff, maintain brand standards, manage breaks, cash handling, and closing reports, while building a positive culture that supports growth into higher roles.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality experience (leadership preferred)
• A team-first mindset with strong communication skills
• Someone who leads by doing—not just directing
• Ability to stay cool and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Basic math and comfort using POS systems

Responsibilities

• Lead the shift and step in to run operations when management isn't on site
• Jump into every position—cashier, grill, prep, fries, dining room—no task is too small
• Deliver fast, accurate service and create a great guest experience every time
• Coach, support, and motivate crew members to perform at their best
• Help train new team members and build a strong, positive culture
• Keep the restaurant clean, safe, and up to brand standards
• Manage shift tasks like breaks, cash handling, and closing reports
