Capriotti's Sandwich Shop in Newark, DE is seeking a dedicated Shift Lead to help drive nightly operations, guest satisfaction and profitability under the guidance of the General Manager.

You will train team members, ensure food quality, manage timing, and maintain cleanliness while delivering Capriotti’s standards and a positive guest experience. • Follow inventory control procedures and guidelines.
• Follows Capriotti’s procedures and policies, cash handling, sanitation and safety/security to ensure safety of Team Members and guests.
• Assist with labor management costs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the shop and ensure proper set up and breakdown of all areas.
• Work as a team to prepare for each shift.
• Greets guests to make them feel welcome and comfortable.
• Prepares and role models all Capriotti’s menu items according to Capriotti’s standards for quality, consistency and timeliness.
• Oversees food quality production of others for quality and standards.
• Maintains regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.

Title: Shift Lead

Department: Operations

Reports To: General Manager and Area Manager

Purpose of Position

This position operates under the direct management of the General Manager and Area Manager, leading his/her location to be profitable while subscribing to our goals and values.

Primary Responsibilities

• Delegate duties and fairly assign specific tasks to ensure Team Members are prepared for our guests.

• Must demonstrate proficiency in all areas of shop operations to assist where needed during assigned shift.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the shop and ensure proper set up and breakdown of all areas, including dining room, restrooms, cold stations, grill and prep areas.
• Work as a team to prepare for each shift.
• Ability to manage time effectively while meting all job responsibilities.
• Maintains a positive work environment for Team Members and guests during each shift.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move throughout the restaurant for extended periods at a time.

Education/Experience Requirements

• High School or equivalency required; college coursework or degree preferred.
• Previous supervisory and hospitality industry experience preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Proven track record of success as a Team Member.
