Job summary

Nottingham City Council is seeking a health, safety, environmental and quality professional to coordinate governance and assurance across Resident Services. You will monitor compliance, support ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 certification, and drive continuous improvement across our operational services.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 health and safety qualification, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
• Experience of health and safety management, including developing and implementing health and safety policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of relevant health, safety and environmental legislation, including CDM Regulations 2015, and ability to assess how legislative changes may affect operational services.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, with experience of auditing against these standards.
• Experience delivering clear and effective training or presentations to employees and managers at different levels of an organisation.
• Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately, both verbally and in writing, including when dealing with senior internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to maintain effective administrative systems, prioritise competing demands and work under pressure with minimal supervision.
• A flexible and motivated approach, with the ability to adapt to changing customer and service requirements.
• Good IT skills, including experience of using standard office software.
• A full driving licence, access to a vehicle and a willingness to travel inside and outside the Council area as required.
