Job summary

Compass Connections in San Antonio, TX seeks compassionate individuals to join our team at the HSF. The role involves safeguarding and caring for children, ensuring safety, documenting activities, and coordinating shift tasks under the Shelter Manager.

A high school diploma is required, CPR/First Aid, and bilingual English/Spanish abilities are essential. We offer full-time hours Sun–Thu 2pm–10pm with 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance on day one, plus retirement options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
• Minimum 1 year related experience; 2+ years preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certifications required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish required.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screens and background checks.
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate schedules.

Responsibilities

• Meet federal/state guidelines and standards for position.
• Report serious incidents and daily activities to Shelter Manager.
• Assist with shift schedules and staff assignments to ensure safety.
• Coordinate daily facility operations during shift.
• Supervise interactions of children to promote positive behavior.
• Plan and supervise activities per daily schedule.
• Maintain records of clothing and personal items.
