Job summary

VOA-NCNN is seeking a Day Shift Support Staff (6:00 AM - 2:30 PM) at Our Place, Women’s Shelter in Sparks, NV. You will provide compassionate service to women and families, manage daily routines, assist with property and clothing services, and support safety and sanitation efforts on a full-time schedule.

Responsibilities include meal coordination, linen inventory, incident reporting, and de-escalation of crises, with CPR/First Aid training required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate and comprehend instructions to serve participants without prejudice.
• Must understand homelessness, substance abuse, families in crisis, youth, minorities, and persons with disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, safe, nonjudgmental service to participants.
• Coordinate meals, sleeping, showers, laundering, and daily routines.
• Maintain daily reports and logs; complete shift documentation.
• Assist with staff training and development.
• Support boutique operations and property management within the shelter.
• Ensure safety, security, and proper conduct of residents and staff.
