Job summary

Volunteers of America Mid-States is seeking a part-time Housing Support Technician in Louisville, KY. The role focuses on safety and security of homeless residential programs, managing front desk operations, and supporting clients in crisis situations.

Responsibilities include guiding client interactions, maintaining strict documentation, coordinating volunteers, and assisting with meals, transportation, and daily program activities.

Qualifications

• The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Two years of post-secondary education is preferred.
• Prior experience in a residential homeless program is required.
• Knowledge/Experience working with individuals in crisis/low-income preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain facility operations in the absence of senior staff.
• Oversee front desk operations including phone, referrals, and intake.
• Ensure client adherence to VOA policies and house rules.
• Maintain chronological shift documentation.
• Maintain client sign-in/sign-out logs.
• Assist with initial intake paperwork with new families.
• Assist in directing volunteer efforts and training.
• Monitor security systems and perform safety checks.
