Job summary

Volunteers of America Mid-States is seeking a Housing Support Technician for the 3rd shift in Louisville, KY. The role focuses on safety and security within homeless residential programs, with duties at the front desk, intake processes, and crisis intervention.

The HST monitors operations, maintains records, and supports volunteers and residents while ensuring adherence to program guidelines. This is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Two years of post-secondary education is preferred.
• Experience in a residential homeless program is required.
• Knowledge of crisis/low-income populations preferred.
• Must have valid KY ID; CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days; pass a background check and Sex Offender Registry check.

Responsibilities

• Maintain operational control of the facility in the absence of senior staff.
• Oversee front desk operations and answer phones, referrals, and intakes.
• Ensure client adherence to Volunteers of America policies and house rules.
• Maintain written records of events and client sign-in/out.
• Monitor security systems, camera surveillance, and safety hazards.
• Assist with meals, transportation, and childcare as assigned.
