Job summary

Project Redirect Inc Of The Distric seeks an experienced Director of Social Services to lead comprehensive case management and supportive services for DHS shelter residents in New York City. You will oversee social service operations, ensure contract compliance, and supervise a multidisciplinary team to help residents achieve housing stability and self-sufficiency.

The ideal candidate brings extensive homeless services experience, strong leadership, and a track record in housing placement,

Qualifications

• < Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field
• < Experience in DHS shelters and homeless services
• < Minimum 5 years in social services, 3+ in supervision
• < Knowledge of NYC shelter system, HIPAA and confidentiality
• < Strong leadership and program administration skills

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise all social services operations in the shelter.
• Provide leadership, coaching, and supervision to case managers and specialists.
• Conduct weekly supervision and multidisciplinary team meetings.
• Develop staff schedules and ensure coverage.
• Monitor staff performance and complete evaluations.
• Recruit, hire, and mentor social services personnel.
• Oversee crisis intervention, client advocacy and housing placement.
• Coordinate with DHS, OTDA and housing providers.
