Job summary

Project Renewal is seeking a Director of Social Services for the Empire Men’s Shelter. The role leads the social services team and coordinates delivery of comprehensive services to homeless men employed or seeking work, in a 24/7 shelter setting.

The Director will collaborate with healthcare and operations, ensure compliance with funder policies, manage staff, and maintain strong DHS/OTDA relations. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work or related field with minimum 2 years in progressively responsible residential management.
• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years managerial experience; or Associate’s with 4 years and managerial experience; High School with 5 years and managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee coordination and delivery of social services to shelter clients.
• Supervise case managers, housing coordinator, and workforce development staff.
• Liaise with DHS and OTDA on clinical issues and client assignments/exits.
• Ensure policy and procedure adherence and conduct quality assurance reviews.
• Lead staff development through supervisory sessions and trainings.
• Respond to emergencies on a 24/7 basis as needed.
