Apploi seeks a Director of Social Services for a Brooklyn shelter serving approximately 200 single women. The role leads staff, liaises with medical and psychiatric providers, and drives program quality and housing outcomes.

The position requires a Master’s degree with a relevant license (LMSW/LCSW or Mental Health Counselor) and supervisory shelter experience. Must be on-call 24/7 and able to coordinate across teams to meet contract targets.

Qualifications

• Master's degree and 3 years of applicable experience in social services.
• License required: LMSW/LCSW or Mental Health Counselor.
• Shelter supervisory experience.
• Ability to be on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Responsabilités

• Oversee all aspects of the social services program per contract requirements.
• Liaise with medical and psychiatric providers to ensure service delivery for clients.
• Develop systems to ensure weekly medication compliance for clients.
• Communicate with peers in other shelters on client progress and best practices.
• Set realistic weekly and monthly performance targets for staff per contract requirements.
• Observe direct staff interactions with clients and supervisors.
• Conduct periodic file reviews and quality assurance measures.
• Provide oversight in the VP's absence and prepare management reports.
• Analyze program and demographic data to guide improvements.
• Organize onsite and offsite staff trainings for professional development.
• Coordinate with VP/Program Director on programmatic and personnel issues.
• Ensure housing goals and outcomes are met monthly/quarterly/annually.
• Monitor housing placements and Individual Service Plans.
• Develop program content addressing housing, treatment, and employment needs.
• Troubleshoot program issues and enforce policies and procedures.
• Implement crisis prevention/intervention strategies for safety.
• Prepare incident reports and regular performance reviews.
• Liaise with community leaders to build support and resolve concerns.
• Ensure data integrity in the electronic system.
