Job summary

The Salvation Army in North & Central Illinois Division is seeking a Shift Monitor (RPT) for the Shield of Hope location to ensure safety and provide compassionate service to families at the Emergency Homeless Assessment and Referral Center. You will perform front desk duties, coordinate guest placement, and support program staff while maintaining confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2 years' work experience working with homeless families or individuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform general front desk duties including reading daily emails, handling mail, managing appointments, handling incoming/outgoing phone calls in a courteous and professional manner.
• Facilitate initial placement of guest(s) to the Emergency Homeless and Referral Center, including orientation and access to assigned room.
• Notify Program Director, Program Coordinator and the Case Managers in writing of any special mental health or dietary accommodations disclosed by guests.
• Conduct nightly bed checks of all guests (families) and document.
• Inform staff of program violations that threaten life, health, or safety and contact 911 as needed.
• Perform daily room checks and coordinate with housekeeping on guest departures and belongings.
• Maintain confidentiality of guest information (verbal/written).
• Assist with referrals to shelters and housing, and work with staff to relocate clients when needed.
