Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be able to empathize, communicate, and work with people from diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer experience and knowledge of modern office procedures and equipment is required.
• Knowledge of Salvation Army practices, policies and organization resources.
• Must be able to pass a background check.
• Must possess a valid California ID card.
• Must be 21 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Assist Shelter Director and Shelter Case Managers with overall Shelter Program functions.
• Answer and forward all telephone calls.
• Greet visitors professionally and direct clients to appropriate staff.
• Direct social service clients to the correct staff or facility and manage donations.
• Maintain guest and staff logs and client confidentiality.
• Process clients for Emergency Shelter overnight stay in the WellSky database and intake.
• Monitor overnight male clients and supervise room clean out and dismissal to meals.
• Maintain security rounds and monitor security cameras.
• Transport program clients to meetings and events.
• Perform custodial duties as needed.
