Job summary

Community Housing Innovations (CHI) is seeking a Service Coordinator to oversee the daily operations of our shelter facility in Midtown Manhattan. You will supervise shift supervisors and residential aides, ensure program rules are followed, and maintain a safe, supportive living environment.

This full-time position offers an 8am-4pm schedule, on-call coverage, and opportunities for professional development, with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, PTO, and retirement

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree in a social service-related field preferred.
• At least four years of working experience in the social service field with supervisory experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; proficiency in English required; multilingual abilities prioritized.
• Must have NYS Food Handlers Certificate or obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shelter operations and supervise shift supervisors and residential aides.
• Conduct regular team meetings and monitor performance against goals.
• Maintain compliance with program rules and safety procedures; oversee sign-in/sign-out records.
• Prepare periodic reports and communicate with program leadership on operations.
• Assist in staff scheduling, trainings, and coverage for all shifts including night shifts.
