Community Housing Innovations (CHI) in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a Service Coordinator to oversee daily shelter operations, enforce program rules, and maintain a safe, supportive environment.

The role includes supervising shift leads and residential aides, conducting regular meetings, and handling administrative tasks. Schedule is Monday–Friday 8am–4pm with on-call flexibility; salary is $66,300 per year. CHI emphasizes extensive staff support and resident well-being.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in social service field preferred.
• At least four years in social services, with two in supervision.
• Fluency in English; multilingual and Spanish prioritized.
• Must have NYS F80 license or obtain within 60 days of employment.
• Must have NYS Food Handlers Certificate or obtain within 60 days of hire.
• Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet.
• Ability to budget and oversee schedules.
• Experience with homeless individuals and health/mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead team management and track performance.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings to review goals and provide feedback.
• Update records in Paycom weekly.
• Ensure operational compliance and safety.
• Oversee residents' daily activities, mealtimes, and recreation as directed.
• Assist in scheduling staff and ensuring shift coverage.
• Prepare periodic reports and recommendations.
• Coordinate administrative procedures with leadership.
