Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles (VOALA) seeks a Monitor II to ensure the safety of program premises, clients, visitors and staff. You will mentor junior Monitors and provide ongoing safety leadership, performing the Monitor duties on behalf of participants.

Driving ability is preferred; you will train staff, monitor shelter entrances, screen bags and person, patrol the facility and maintain incident records to support secure, respectful service delivery.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass a fingerprint clearance.
• Ability to perform under emotional stress and handle challenging situations.
• Valid California driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Train Monitors in safety expectations and procedures.
• Provide ongoing safety leadership and shelter security oversight.
• Monitor shelter entrances, screen bags and persons entering shelter.
• Patrol premises and maintain records of client compliance and incidents.
• If licensed, perform driving duties for transports and related tasks.
