Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking an entry-level Monitor to help safeguard shelter premises and ensure safety for program clients, visitors and employees on site. Driving ability is preferred for certain shifts.

The role involves monitoring entrances, screening bags, patrolling the facility, and completing written reports. VOALA provides on-site security duties and supports participants with daily activities as required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass fingerprint clearance and background checks

Responsibilities

• Monitor shelter entrance and authorize entry/exit
• Screen participants' bags and belongings
• Patrol premises to detect security issues
• Maintain safety and security of clients, staff and visitors
• Prepare written incident reports and logs
• Assist with on-site program activities and client support
• Drive participants as needed if licensed
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with authorities
