Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Monitor I - HSH to ensure the safety and security of shelter facilities, participants, and staff in Los Angeles. The role emphasizes front-door monitoring, screening, and reporting to maintain a secure environment for vulnerable populations.

The position requires working on-site daily, with driving as part of responsibilities for licensed monitors. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least six months of relevant experience, plus fingerprint clearance and

Qualifications

Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
High School Diploma or GED (education requirement).
6 months experience working with homeless and/or vulnerable populations.
Current California driver's license and clean driving record (preferred).
Must timely complete all mandated training.

Responsibilities

Shelter entrance monitoring and control of entrance/exit for participants, employees, visitors, and vendors.
Bag and person screening of participants’ belongings to ensure safety and security.
Patrol premises to prevent intrusion and maintain security of doors, windows, and gates.
Shelter safety duties including monitoring for spills, unsafe conditions, and reporting safety concerns.
Drive participants as directed (license required) as part of Client Support for Monitors.
Complete written reports and incident logs of daily activities and irregularities.
