Volunteers of America Los Angeles is hiring a Monitor I - HSH to safeguard program premises and ensure client safety. The role includes controlling shelter entrances, screening bags, patrolling, and supporting shelter operations on-site.

Responsibilities extend to documenting incidents, assisting staff, and driving participants when licensed. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, 6 months experience with vulnerable populations, and pass required clearances.

Competenze

• Must pass fingerprint clearance, background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications.
• Ability to work under emotional stress and deal with potentially aggressive clients.
• Must meet funder approval.
• 6 months experience working with homeless and/or vulnerable populations.

Mansioni

• Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of participants, staff, visitors and vendors to guard against theft and maintain security.
• Screen participants’ bags and persons entering the shelter to ensure safety.
• Patrol premises and report incidents to maintain safe operations.
• Conduct shelter safety duties, room checks, and assist management staff as required.
• Drive participants as directed (licensed Monitors) and maintain trip records.
