Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Monitor I - HSH to help ensure security and safety within the shelter environment. The role emphasizes monitoring entrances, screening participants and visitors, and coordinating with clinical staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance and background check required.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 months experience working with homeless and/or vulnerable populations.
• Ability to work in a demanding shelter environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shelter entrance and screen participants and visitors.
• Perform bag and person screening.
• Patrol premises to prevent incidents and safeguard doors, windows, and gates.
• Respond to emergencies and coordinate with police or fire services.
• Maintain daily activity logs and incident reports.
