Job summary

VOALA is seeking a Monitor I - HSH to ensure security of the shelter premises, monitor and screen entrants, and support program clients in Los Angeles. Driving ability is preferred as part of duties. The role requires on-site presence and adherence to mandated reporting and safety procedures.

Qualifications include fingerprint clearance, a High School Diploma or GED, and a California driver’s license. Prior experience with vulnerable populations is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires fingerprint clearance and ability to manage security in a shelter environment.
• High School Diploma or GED required; California driver's license preferred.
• Experience with vulnerable populations is preferred; ability to work on-site daily.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Shelter entrance to guard against theft and ensure safety.
• Screen bags and persons entering shelter; maintain safety and security of premises.
• Patrol premises; report safety concerns and maintain logs.
• Assist shelter staff; transport participants as required and maintain vehicle records.
• Complete written reports and incidents logs of daily activities and irregularities.
• Act as a role model for participants and provide client support on site.
