Job summary

VOALA seeks a Monitor I - HSH to ensure security of the shelter, supervise access, and support program clients on site. Driving ability is preferred to transport participants when needed, with responsibilities including reporting, documentation, and coordinating with staff.

The role emphasizes safety of clients and staff, adherence to program rules, and professional interaction with participants and partners in a non-profit service setting.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• 6 months experience with homeless and/or vulnerable populations.
• Current CA drivers license preferred, with clean driving record.
• Must meet funder approval.
• Must timely complete mandated training.

Responsibilities

• Monitor shelter entrance and screen bags/persons entering shelter.
• Patrol premises to ensure safety and security of doors, windows, and grounds.
• Drive participants as directed (licensed Monitors).
• Complete written reports and daily activity logs; report irregularities.
• Act as a role model and maintain professionalism at all times.
