Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Lead Monitor I to coordinate and supervise monitors, provide safety training, and oversee security for program premises and clients on-site.

The role includes leading shelter safety operations, bag and person screening, and driving duties for licensed monitors as needed. Strong communication and reporting skills are essential for this position.

Qualifications

• Must pass fingerprint clearance and background check.
• One year of experience in security or human services.
• Current California driver’s license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise Monitors across shifts.
• Train Monitors in safety procedures and program operations.
• Oversee shelter safety and security practices and incident reporting.
• Monitor shelter entrance, screen bags and persons entering shelter.
• Perform driving tasks for licensed Monitors and maintain trip records.
• Complete written reports and logs of daily activities and irregularities.
