City Rescue Mission of Lansing seeks a Shelter Security professional to oversee access to the facilities, monitor guest tracking, and help keep staff and guests safe. The role emphasizes adherence to shelter policies and proactive de-escalation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite preferred.
• 1 year security experience preferred.
• CPR, AED, and Narcan training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor everyone entering the shelter and verify authorization using guest tracking software and schedules.
• Use body cams and wands to ensure safety of guests and staff and maintain ministry integrity.
• Complete facility rounds to ensure security and address any issues.
• Assist staff with de-escalation and escort individuals off property when needed.
• Be liaison to emergency services and provide pertinent information.
• Implement safety measures like banning guests and updating no-trespassing lists.
• Support with phone calls and other communications as needed.
• Maintain clean, orderly workspace and adhere to shelter policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate the love of Christ, share the gospel when appropriate, and pray with guests.
