Job summary

City Rescue Mission of Lansing seeks a Shelter Coordinator to oversee guests and ensure a calm shift flow while enforcing shelter policies with consistency and warmth. The role demands friendliness, quiet firmness, and independence within a Christian framework.

The position supports 2nd shift (4pm-9pm or 5pm-10pm) and requires a HS diploma and Microsoft Office proficiency; part-time with benefits including dental, vision, sick time and Christian counseling services.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office.
• Ability to interact respectfully with guests and volunteers.

Responsibilities

• Support and supervise guests during all activities and times during shift
• Work through assigned cleaning tasks in a thorough and detailed manner
• Have a good understanding of shelter policies and procedures and execute them properly
• Maintain good communication with the department, utilizing all available tools
• Maintain a clean and orderly workspace
• Cleaning, stocking, organizing as needed/assigned
• Assist with new guest intakes, understanding this process and executing it properly
• Attend all meetings and training sessions as scheduled
• Show the love of Christ, be ready to share the gospel, and pray with guests regularly
