Job summary

The NYC Department of Social Services, Housing Services Administration, seeks a Community Coordinator to support shelter rehousing through staff training, process curriculum, and provider collaboration. The role focuses on improving rehousing practices, client outcomes, and coordination with partner agencies.

Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm. Residency requirements apply. You will work with providers to address barriers and guide clients toward affordable housing and available benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in community work or related duties.
  • High school diploma with six years of related experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience with at least one year at the described level.

Responsibilities

  • Provide consultation and training to provider staff to strengthen rehousing service knowledge and capacity.
  • Develop and outline a support curriculum for the rehousing process.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
  • Review performance data and prepare reports for leadership and provider management.
  • Participate in meetings with providers to address challenges related to client exit strategies and income verification.
  • Guide clients and staff on identifying affordable housing options and accessing government benefits.

Education
