Job summary

The Human Resources Administration (HRA) of the City of New York is recruiting one Community Coordinator to function as a Shelter Support Coordinator. This role focuses on strengthening rehousing services for the shelter population and guiding staff through rental packet preparation and client assessments.

Responsibilities include developing a rehousing curriculum, conducting site visits, reviewing performance data, and coordinating with partners to address barriers to placement and housing

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree plus two years of related community work experience; or high school diploma plus six years of related experience; at least one year of the specified experience.
• Experience coordinating rehousing services and working with shelter populations is preferred.
• Ability to develop training curricula and guidance documents for staff and providers.
• Strong data reporting, metric review, and scorecard preparation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultation and training to provider staff on rehousing services and packet preparation.
• Develop curriculum covering the rehousing process, documentation, and coordination with Concierge staff.
• Conduct site visits to identify gaps and recommend improvements for rehousing practices.
• Review performance data and prepare reports and scorecards for leadership.
• Participate in meetings with providers to address challenges in client exit and income verification.
• Suggest remedies for housing discrimination issues and subsidy-related placement barriers.
• Guide clients and staff to identify affordable housing and access government benefits.
