Job summary

Mercy Center Ministries Inc. seeks a Program Director/Case Manager for a 4-unit mother/child homeless shelter. You will supervise staff, deliver professional services, and coordinate information and referrals while collaborating with the Executive Director and Board.

Responsibilities include Shelter Management, 24/7 on-call coverage, staff training, and annual evaluations. Case management covers intake, service plans, housing applications, and transition planning toward permanent housing.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and accompanying license in New York State or related degree from an accredited university.
• Good character evidenced by at least two letters of recommendation from unrelated individuals.
• Experience in program management, supervision, and homeless services.
• Clearance from the central register for Child Abuse and Maltreatment.
• A valid driver's license.
• Physical ability to climb stairs daily.

Responsibilities

• Works at Program site, 4 unit mother/child homeless shelter, providing overall supervision of staff, delivery of professional and confidential services for the clients, and information and referral services to those seeking assistance.
• Develop procedures and professional direction for agency programs in consultation with Executive Director and Board of Directors.
• Shelter Management duties including use of HMIS/SOAR, forming community partnerships, maintaining relations with town and responders, 24/7 on-call coverage, staffing plans, and staff evaluations.
• Provide crisis management and safety oversight, ensure site inspections, document emergencies, and coordinate housing transitions for clients.
• Case Management duties including intake, service plans, housing applications, and transition planning toward permanent housing.
• Housing responsibilities including identifying housing options, maintaining housing resources, arranging transportation, and coordinating logs.
• Administrative responsibilities including attendance at meetings, fundraising assistance, reporting, and compliance with funding requirements.
