Job summary

Insight Housing is seeking a Resident Advocate Supervisor to oversee the daily operations and supervision of Resident Advocates at the men’s shelter. This role ensures 24/7 staffing coverage and provides direct supervision and support to frontline staff in a safe, trauma-informed environment.

You will report to the Program Manager and work primarily swing shifts (2:00 PM–10:30 PM or 4:00 PM–12:30 AM, Tuesday–Saturday), coordinating scheduling, monitoring performance, and ensuring safety and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a shelter or similar congregate care setting.
• At least 1 year of supervisory/lead role overseeing staff.
• Experience working in 24/7 operations and swing shifts.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to schedule staff and coordinate on-call coverage.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and trauma-informed care practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain staff schedules to ensure 24/7 shelter coverage.
• Ensure shifts are covered, including on-call staff and evenings/weekends.
• Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and support to Resident Advocates.
• Monitor staff performance, attendance, and policy adherence.
• Respond to operational issues, resident concerns, and emergencies.
• Promote safety protocols and trauma-informed care standards.
• Document incidents and communicate updates to the Program Manager.
• Support onboarding and training of new Resident Advocates.
• Foster a respectful, inclusive environment for residents and staff.
• Participate in meetings, case conferences, and trainings.
• Monitor facility safety, cleanliness, and maintenance concerns.
• Review reports and logs for quality and compliance.
• Enforce program rules consistently.
