Job summary

Insight Housing in the Bay Area seeks a dedicated Resident Advocate Supervisor for the men’s shelter. You will oversee daily operations, provide supervision to Resident Advocates, and ensure 24/7 staffing coverage in a trauma-informed, safe environment.

Reporting to the Program Manager, you’ll manage scheduling, coaching, de-escalation practices, and compliance, while supporting onboarding and training. Swing shifts, Tuesday–Saturday, with on-site responsibilities and a commitment to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in shelter/residential programs.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory/lead role and experience supervising frontline staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, manage, and maintain staff schedules to ensure 24/7 shelter coverage.
• Ensure shifts are covered, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
• Provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and support to Resident Advocates.
• Monitor staff performance, attendance, and adherence to policies.
• Respond to operational issues, resident concerns, and emergencies during shifts.
• Enforce safety protocols and trauma-informed care standards.
• Communicate staffing needs and incidents to the Program Manager; complete documentation.
• Support onboarding and training of new Resident Advocates.
• Promote a respectful, inclusive environment for residents and staff.
• Participate in meetings, case conferences, trainings.
• Monitor facility safety, cleanliness, and maintenance concerns.
• Review reports and case notes for quality and compliance.
