Job summary

Insight Housing seeks a Resident Advocate Supervisor to oversee daily operations at the men’s shelter. You will supervise Resident Advocates, ensure 24/7 staffing coverage, and maintain a safe, trauma-informed environment for residents. Reports go to the Program Manager and shifts are primarily swing.

The role emphasizes staffing coordination, on-call management, and staff development in a fast-paced shelter setting in the Bay Area.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a shelter or similar setting.
• At least 1 year in a supervisory/lead role.
• Experience with 24/7 operations and swing shifts.
• Knowledge of shelter operations, safety protocols, and crisis response.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain staff schedules for 24/7 shelter operations.
• Ensure shifts are covered, including evenings, weekends, or holidays.
• Provide day-to-day supervision and support to Resident Advocates.
• Monitor performance, attendance, and policy adherence.
• Respond to operational issues, resident concerns, and emergencies.
• Enforce safety protocols and trauma-informed care standards.
• Report staffing needs and updates to the Program Manager.
• Support onboarding and training of new Resident Advocates.
• Promote a respectful, inclusive environment for residents and staff.
• Participate in meetings, case conferences, and trainings.
• Monitor facility safety, cleanliness, and maintenance issues.
• Review reports and case notes for quality and compliance.
