Job summary

The Las Vegas Rescue Mission is seeking a Shelter Coordinator for our Shelter Department. The role supports overnight guests’ emergency housing needs, adhering to Shelter Supervisor directions and ensuring safety while providing basic needs.

You will communicate professionally with staff, residents, volunteers, and donors. Responsibilities include intake coordination, crisis response, agency networking, and compassionate guest care, with emphasis on medication management and group prevention

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS Publisher and Adobe Acrobat.
• HMIS experience is an asset.
• Group facilitation experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily intake processes of shelter guests.
• Demonstrate ability to handle crisis situations effectively to ensure safety.
• Network and coordinate with outside agencies.
• Effectively assist and care for all overnight guests.
• Medication management.
• Prevention services and group facilitation.
