Job summary

The Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) is seeking an Operations Assistant Coordinator to support frontline Emergency Shelter Operations, ensuring a safe shelter environment and well-being of guests. You will bridge shelter operations with services, providing non-judgmental, trauma-informed support and resources.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating shifts, implementing safety procedures, and documenting activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 1 year of Human Services experience, or a HS Diploma with 3+ years in the field.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, supportive shelter environment and enforce policies.
• Supervise shelter operations staff and coordinate shift coverage.
• Engage guests with trauma-informed care and referrals to internal/external programs.
• Maintain records and log entries; data entry into HMIS/ETO.
• Transport clients via program van and participate in required meetings.
