Job summary

St. Vincent de Paul is seeking a Center Supervisor in Maryland to oversee program operations, staff, volunteers, and guests at the shelter.

The role includes crisis intervention, scheduling, and ensuring the delivery of parenting and life-skills classes with strict attention to safety and confidentiality. The ideal candidate has 3 years of supervisory experience, crisis intervention skills, excellent communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree not required but preferred; relevant experience may substitute for education.
• 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience with and sensitivity to persons who are homeless or materially poor from diverse backgrounds.
• Crisis intervention, behavior management or conflict resolution experience.
• Respect for client confidentiality and data privacy.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight for program operations and center activities.
• Direct supervision of shift monitors and program staff; conduct supervision meetings and trainings.
• Oversee daily programming and assignments (laundry, showers, chores, token distribution).
• Maintain attendance records and communicate issues to Senior Director/Case Manager.
• Coordinate intake and data entry into ROSIE; monitor guest attendance and compliance.
• Prepare weekly staff schedules and ensure coverage for all shifts.
• Oversee meal service operations and use of donated foods.
• Promote a caring, respectful environment for guests and volunteers.
• Attend required meetings and support special events as needed.
